20 LGBTQ+ Romances on Kindle Unlimited

I love recommending books on Kindle Unlimited because it feels much more accessible. Not everyone has the means to buy multiple ebooks a month, and KU is such a cost-effective way to read! Keep an eye out for the sales during Prime Day, when you can get membership for $4.99/month (normally $9.99).

Here are 20 books on KU with a guaranteed happily ever after!

  1. Necessary Evils: Unhinged, Psycho, Moonstruck, Headcase, Madman
    MM / dark romance
Each book in this series of standalones follows one of seven brothers. The brothers were diagnosed psychopaths and adopted by a billionaire who turned them into Dexter style killing vigilantes. If you like psycho, overprotective heroes, give these dark romances a try.
CWs: each of my reviews for the individual books on Goodreads has content warnings
  2. Breakaway
    MM / sports + contemporary
Starry eyed new recruit Lane and jaded villain Jared meet over a fight on the ice during Lane's first professional hockey game. The chemistry sizzles off the ice when they meet up again... and again... breaking Jared's rules about keeping distance between any romantic intention and himself.
CWs: hero was groomed by a coach, he was an adult but there was an age gap and power imbalance; homophobia
  3. Love Language
    MM / contemporary
Marco and Greg meet at a BDSM club on Valentine's Day. Both are miserable - Marco is Deaf and doesn't want to speech read in a hearing crowd, Greg is still grieving the loss of his husband.
Marco is a dom, Deaf, and trans, and finds himself immediately drawn to Greg - an older sub (and CODA). Lots of hurt comfort in this book as they figure out how they fit together - as friends or something more.
    CWs: ableism, partner loss, BDSM
  4. The Last to Leave
    FF / contemporary
This book is what I wanted The Unhoneymooners to be... except gay... with bi rep!
High school rivals have to go to Cabo together because their best friends are getting engaged. Cue: competition and tension.
  5. The Happy List
    MM / contemporary
Gray and Kai have been friends their whole lives, even if they couldn't be more opposite. Gray is buttoned up and responsible; Kay is flighty and carefree. When they become roommates Kai has to push away his long-ago crush, while Gray realizes he might not be as "straight" as they both assumed.
Great conversations around sexuality (Gray discovers he is demisexual) and a friends to lovers, low angst story.
  6. Dear Mr. Brody
    MM / contemporary
After his divorce, Van decides he wants to explore his bisexuality and does so with Pegasus, a Grindr-like dating app. After chatting semi-anonymously with another man, they plan to meet up... and he realizes the man is one of his students (he is 33 and the student is 24 - so not super icky to me).
Van struggles on if he should continue with the romance as he thinks about his daughter, his job, and the power dynamic of their relationship.
  7. Orientation
    MM / contemporary
An opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine novella between the golden retriever PE teacher (Max) and the new, awkward, anxious, nerdy science teacher (Jory).
  8. Candy Hearts
    MM / contemporary
Benji is a muscly mechanic with layers - he likes wearing lacy lingerie and feels like he's had to change himself to please everyone in his life, including parents and pas boyfriends. He's tired of molding himself to other people's ideals, so when he proposes to be stern and awkward William's fake Valentine, he's himself 100% because he doesn't expect it to go anywhere.
    Age gap, forced proximity cuteness.
  9. Three of Hearts
    FMM / fantasy
A pretty short urban fantasy romance that's part second chance romance, part fated mates. Greg (werewolf) and Asa (demon) were together but Greg broke things off because his wolf didn't feel he could commit to him as his mate. Months later, Greg and Asa separately meet Zephyrine, a harpy, who they're both immediately drawn to.
  10. Play Dirty
    MM / dark romance
Two assassins who have been rivals for years. They've tricked each other, stolen jobs from each other, attacked one another. Enough said.
  11. Private Charter
    MM / contemporary vacation romance
Trying to get a reprieve from his high pressure job, Stuart books a yacht vacation. Only his date bails at the last minute so it's him and the sea captain Foster... alone... for two weeks.
A delightfully steamy vacation romance with forced proximity, a pair of white Speedos, and lots of sunscreen and tequila.
  12. The Devil Wears Tartan
    FF / contemporary
Moira and Kenzie are lifelong Highland dancing rivals, who learn there's attraction sizzling under the surface of their hatred.
It was a great coming of age story of self acceptance - more than a romance.
  13. Soul Eater
    MM / fantasy
    Book 1 in a standalone fantasy / post-apocalyptic series.
One hero is Danny, a reluctant soldier, and the other is Wyn - a powerful soul eater from another dimension who the military is after.
  14. The Sea Monster's Mate
    MM / exophilia/monster
The premise for this one is titillating: a sea monster is seeking a host to fertilize their six eggs, and they stumble a human man whose just bought himself a private island. But move past that, and you get a super sweet, low angst family story. The gender neutral sea monster, a human man, and their six sea monster kiddos.
  15. Once Ghosted, Twice Shy
    FF / contemporary
A sapphic, Black love novella that can be read separate from the other Reluctant Royal books from Alyssa Cole.
Months ago Likotsi and Fabiola met and dated, only for Fabiola to ghost her. When Likotsi is back in town and they run into each other, Fabiola wants a second chance - but doesn't share what happened to make her disappear.
  16. What We May Be
    FMM / romantic suspense
If you enjoy mysteries, have you tried romantic suspense stories?
This is a second chance romance for a throuple who was abandoned by
  17. Mind Games
    FF / romantic suspense
A romantic suspense story between a medical examiner (Kelsey) and a patrol cop trying to make detective (Zara).
We quickly learn each has something they're struggling with: Kelsey has OCD and was for it hospitalized in the past year (and is hiding it from her coworkers) and Zara is still haunted by her sister's death five years ago.

  18. Tangled Vows
    FF / contemporary
An accidental marriage turned marriage of convenience between a powerful businesswoman and an escort.
They decide to keep the ruse going to try to get access to the businesswoman's inheritance.
  19. The Savage
    MF / dark romance
Sabrina is the bisexual heroine of my dreams. She and Adrik met and butted heads immediately in earlier books, but this book works as a standalone and picks up at the end of her school year, when he flies out to the island her secluded boarding school is on to pick her up.
From there they work to build an empire together.
CWs: violence, murder, torture, drug making/selling
  20. The Trouble With Trying to Date a Murderer
    MM / fantasy-ish
This book is definitely an unusual book - not a "traditional romance". I went in thinking it was a contemporary but it's really more of a fantasy, with magic, reapers, and talking gargoyles.
The hero and narrator is mute, and after he crosses paths with a Reaper named Fox multiple times (each time falling victim to ruined clothes) they decide to pair up.
