What to Read Next

the girl behind the rainbow bookshelf

If you're looking for book recommendations to make you laugh, cry, scream, love, feel things - you're in the right place.

Hi! I'm Stephanie, and I read (as my husband would say) "way too much".

My genre of choice is romance - adult romance, preferably with some spice, and from any genre... contemporary, dark, sci-fi, monster, fantasy, mafia, MC, college/new adult, historical, etc.

I read and review romances so your TBR will always be bursting (sorry, not sorry). Everything I recommend has a happy ending guaranteed!

Wanna know a little more?

I remember in sixth grade my English teacher accused me of lying about how fast I read. I was like... "if I was going to lie about something, I'd lie about something that would make me cooler." I didn't know how to explain my reading speed, I just knew that's how fast I always read. I also knew that I LOVED books - I loved getting lost in a story, I loved books that made me feel things, and yes, I loved a happily ever after.

I liked Anne of Green Gables, Nancy Drew, Harry Potter... but I would say the series I read the most was Sweet Valley High. There were the "kids" lines: Sweet Valley Kids, Sweet Valley Twins, Sweet Valley Junior High... but I preferred the more "grown up" Sweet Valley High and the infinitely cooler Sweet Valley High: Senior Year. (Potential blog/TikTok series coming on that...

I had a love of reading I couldn't shake, though I never really found a niche. I liked young adult, some fantasy, mystery, fiction... it wasn't until I read my first historical romance that I realized I could combine my love of history and romance into a book with a guaranteed happy ending. And while I enjoyed both historical romance and young adult books with a romance plot, I didn't realize other adult romances existed until I read both The Kiss Quotient and The Hating Game back to back.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Except not quite, because this was still back in 2018, and the only person who I knew "in real life" and shared my love of romance was my mom. And even then, I didn't share the truly outrageous romances I found with her. I was content to binging books quietly, posting reviews for my 8 friends on Goodreads until I began posting to my bookstagram in August 2020. Tiktok shortly followed (though I didn't get the hang of it until the following spring/summer 2021) and I'm so grateful I've found a community of like-minded readers as passionate about these wonderful books as I am.
